Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Further to District Lodge 140 Bulletin No. 22, issued on April 22, 2015, Transportation District 140 representatives met internally with the Low Cost Carrier (LCC) Committee, our legal counsel and Mediator Vincent Ready on April 27, 2015. In addition Transportation District 140 representatives, our legal counsel and Mediator Ready met with Air Canada on April 27 and 28, 2015.
On April 28, 2015, with the assistance of Mediator Ready, the parties entered into a “Protocol Agreement” in an effort to move forward on a mediated settlement that would provide job security for our Members and protect the scope work of the IAMAW within all Business Units operating under the Air Canada commercial brand. This agreement includes the scheduling of four (4) weeks of meetings through May and June for the parties to seek a resolution to these extremely important issues
The IAMAW will continue to re-assess this process and the course of action necessary in order to ensure the best outcome for our Members. The IAMAW will continue to provide further information as it becomes available.
In Solidarity,
Fred Hospes,
President & Directing General Chairperson Transportation District 140, IAMAW
