Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Air Canada has recently released a posting opportunity for E-M2 bridging training for our cat-38 Technical Operation Members to upskill their licensing.
As you may or may not be aware, this is an item brought forward by the employer in the current round of bargaining. Although we have not been able to agree to the terms of this item, the process of bargaining is not complete, as arbitration is still upcoming, in the coming months.
Despite this, Air Canada has taken the position to achieve this change by unilaterally posting for this training. Your Union vehemently opposes this tactic and has already begun to challenge through the legal and arbitration processes.
As soon as we have information on those challenges, we will advise of any progress.
In solidarity,
