Dear Brothers & Sisters:
Bulletin 31 issued on September 26, 2014 stipulated that:
Each affected Member that did not receive the 2% Lump Sum payment in full because they were on Worker’s Compensation will be responsible for obtaining and submitting to the Union written substantiation from the Board that they will not pay the sum in whole or in part.
All affected employees will have until 1600 local time on January 15, 2015 to submit their case to the Union. There will be no further recourse to Members that fail to contact the Union by the closing date of January 15, 2015.
Once District Lodge 140 has collected the claim denials we will be in a position to bring the issue of jurisdiction back before Arbitrator Martin Teplitsky to rule on the matter.
If you have any questions, please contact your District Lodge Representative.
In Solidarity,
Paul Penman
